This busy south-coast hotel, which has recently added a new wing of rooms, has all kinds of stuff going on. The central pool has a sunken bar, plus there's a hidden cave and shallow bank that kids love. There are 3 restaurants, and the St Lawrence Gap nightlife area is a 5-min taxi ride. Special nights feature live jazz, barbecues and even fire-eating.

On beautiful Accra Beach, on the south coast. 10 min to Bridgetown. 5 min to St Lawrence Gap. Transfer time from airport: 20 min.

224 rooms each with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, cable/satellite TV, complimentary Internet access, telephone, coffee percolator, fridge, in-room safe, iron and board, shower and hairdryer. Rooms sleep max 2 adults and 1 child. Island View Rooms are in both wings, those in the new wing do not have a balcony, those in the original wing have a balcony and face on to the road, sleeping max 2 adults and 1 child. The hotel has a new non smoking policy in all guest rooms.

3 restaurants: The Fig Tree for light lunchtime snacks, Wytukai, the island's only Polynesian restaurant, and the Coco Patch Restaurant for Caribbean and international cuisine. The Sand Bar Lounge for evening cocktails and the Lagoon Bar for poolside drinks.

Different events 5 nights a week, from an open-air barbecue with live band and floor show, to the manager's cocktail party with steel pan and karaoke.
